FAIL! I have been shooting for 100k per week the past few weeks and missing the mark. I ran 80k the first week, then 50k the following. And am currently at 45k this week with the rest of today and the weekend left.
I found after 80k I was tired and 50k the next week seemed correct.
Coming back with 30k on Monday (5k in the morning, 5k at lunch, and 20k at night) I and am finding the arches of my feet and my ankles to be tired and sore. I ran 10k with a friend the following day and took 2 rest day, which oddly enough I feel guilty about taking.
My body definitely needs the sleep, I still woke up lethargic this morning but ran 5k. I re-listened to the Rich Roll podcast with Chris Hauth regarding training and have decided to focus on Zone 2 heart rate. My runs will be significantly slower from here on out on easy days, and on hard days I am going to push pretty hard.
The weather is beginning to get nicer so I can run outdoors again. Still colder than I prefer but it is getting there.
My knee issues are now pretty minimal. Running properly really makes a difference and although it was a long journey to get to my current level of understanding it is rewarding after a 20k run to just feel tired and not have a hurt knee.
